About The Position

Guitar Center Music Teachers teach music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. They help increase and retain student enrollment while supporting students’ growth, development, and enjoyment of playing music. The role contributes to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and provides an excellent Customer experience. Teachers work with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, assist with Customer service as needed, and build lasting relationships with students and families through regular communication about goals and progress. Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the applicant is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area the applicant will teach.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with Customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, build trusting relationships, and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
Communicate each student’s progress to students and/or their parents.
Share students’ and/or parents’ goals and progress frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
