About The Position

As a Music Teacher at Guitar Center, you will teach music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help increase and retain student enrollment while supporting students’ growth and enjoyment of playing music. The role also contributes to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and may include assisting with customer service as needed. You will work with students and their families through frequent communication, build trusting relationships, and share students’ goals, progress, and development. The listed pay range is $15.16–$19.29 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $27.33 per hour at the total teaching rate, depending on background and experience. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families and build trusting relationships.
Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
