About The Position

School of Rock is a performance-based music education community with more than 450 schools. Music Teachers handle music education in lessons and rehearsals, creating an engaging experience that challenges and inspires students while helping them develop music and life skills. Instruction covers five core areas—keys, vocals, guitar, bass, and drums—and instructors may also contribute other musical talents. The role includes private lessons, shows, lesson planning, communication with families, and support for the school's programs and operations.

Requirements

At least 4 years of experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
Ability to work well with a wide range of customers and other people.
Strong organizational skills.
Very strong customer relations skills.
Resourcefulness and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor.
Good judgment.
Passion for teaching.

Nice To Haves

Working musician with formal music school training.
Ability to contribute musical talent beyond the five core areas of keys, vocals, guitar, bass, and drums.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality music instruction through private lessons and shows.
Ensure students learn music fundamentals, not only songs.
Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
Communicate regularly with parents about student progress after lessons.
Be visible and accessible at the school and interact regularly with parents and students.
Help execute the overall program when lessons are canceled.
Assist with rehearsals and basic school maintenance.
Follow the School of Rock Code of Conduct and safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy.
