About The Position

The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to grow student enrollment and help each student continue developing and enjoying music, while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead, students, and families to schedule and retain students, communicate about progress, and provide an excellent customer experience. Customer service and other duties may also be assigned as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach vocals or an instrument in which the applicant is proficient, such as guitar, keyboard, vocals, recording, or DJ.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule lessons and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by providing a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
Communicate students’ progress and goals to students and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
