About The Position

The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase student count and help each student continue to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music while fostering a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The position also supports an excellent customer experience and partners with the store Lessons Lead, students, and families.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area to be taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed, helping build and maintain long-term students by creating a great experience.
Partner with students and families through frequent communication, build trusting relationships, and embrace parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
Communicate each student’s progress to students and/or their parents.
Frequently share students’ and/or parents’ goals and progress.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
