About The Position

Guitar Center is hiring a part-time Music Teacher at Store 496 in Katy, Texas. The Music Teacher provides music lessons according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum, helping students grow, develop, and enjoy playing music while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The role also focuses on increasing and retaining student enrollment and delivering an excellent customer experience. The Music Teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, assists with customer service as needed, and builds long-term student relationships. The teacher communicates regularly with students and families about progress and goals, and values parents’ knowledge of their children as music learners. Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area the candidate will teach.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term students by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships and account for parents’ knowledge of their child as a music learner.
Share students’ goals and progress frequently with students and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
