Henderson County Schools is seeking a qualified Music Teacher for Grades 6-8 at North Middle School for the 2026-27 school year. This position requires a teacher who can utilize a variety of materials and activities to facilitate lesson objectives, engage students in instructional involvement, and demonstrate a caring attitude. The role involves effective questioning and motivational strategies, continuous monitoring of student learning, and responsibility for student behavior and progress. The teacher will comply with all board and school policies, attend faculty meetings, and is encouraged to participate in professional development activities. A high standard of professional dress, mastery of written and spoken word, and current lesson plans are expected. The teacher will foster a friendly and cooperative attitude with students, colleagues, parents, and superiors, and share in extended school activities and school/community affairs. A key aspect of the role is demonstrating understanding and concern for the academic and social welfare of students, maintaining an orderly classroom conducive to learning, and directing student learning at a rate commensurate with student capability. The teacher will also assist students in making up missed work, use acceptable discipline methods, set a positive example, and avoid prejudice. Open-minded and courteous discussions with parents/guardians about student progress are essential, as is respecting their rights and cooperating regarding student welfare. Maintaining high standards of conduct and attitudes is crucial for the dignity of the profession. The teacher will upgrade professional skills through various opportunities and may accept outside employment only if it does not interfere with professional duties. Other duties as assigned by the administration will also be performed.
