About The Position

This is not a traditional middle school teaching assignment. At London School, one teacher serves as the primary instructor for grades 6-8 in a small-school setting. While this requires flexibility, organization, and strong instructional skills, it also provides a unique opportunity to create an engaging and highly personalized middle school experience for students. We are seeking an educator who embraces creativity, innovation, and relationship-based teaching. The successful candidate will be excited by the opportunity to design meaningful learning experiences, connect learning across subject areas, and help students see the relevance of their education to the world around them. Requirements

  • Must be licensed or eligible for license as an Elementary teacher, grades K-8, or Middle School teacher with a Language Arts and Math endorsement.
  • Flexibility, organization, and strong instructional skills.
  • Ability to embrace creativity, innovation, and relationship-based teaching.
  • Willingness to explore non-traditional approaches to instruction while maintaining high academic expectations.
  • Comfort teaching multiple subjects.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Belief in the value and potential of rural education.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary instructor for grades 6-8 in a small-school setting.
  • Create engaging learning experiences that capture student interest and foster curiosity.
  • Design instruction that meets students where they are academically.
  • Build a positive, student-centered culture where students are engaged, challenged, and supported.
  • Work collaboratively with educational assistants and other staff members to support diverse student learning needs.
  • Help students develop the skills, confidence, and critical thinking necessary for future success.

Benefits

  • Salary will be determined by previous relevant K-12 teaching experience and degree level in accordance with the current salary schedule.
