About The Position
As a Music Teacher, you will teach music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help increase and retain student enrollment while supporting students’ musical growth and enjoyment. The role also includes building relationships with students and families, communicating about student progress, and contributing to a welcoming store culture centered on integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The listed pay rate is $11.41–$14.91 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $21.68 per hour at the total teaching rate, depending on background and experience. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, location, and other factors.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child.
- Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or their parents frequently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
