The Director of Music provides leadership and oversight for the musical life of the Shrine of the National Basilica of Mary, Queen of the Universe, including its sacred music program, liturgical celebrations, and concert series. Responsibilities include planning and directing music for regularly scheduled weekend Masses, Holy Days, seasonal and special liturgical celebrations; directing, scheduling, and rehearsing adult choirs; recruiting, training, and forming Basilica cantors and music volunteers; serving as organist/pianist as needed; coordinating and overseeing the Basilica’s concert series; and supervising audio-visual equipment related to liturgical and musical activities.
