About The Position

The Museum Associate Director of Administrative Services will support the Museum Director in various capacities, including project management, program development, department management, research and policy development, and stakeholder liaison. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage projects and represent the museum effectively.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.
  • Proven project‑management experience in a museum or university environment with strong follow‑up capabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for engaging a wide range of contacts internally and externally.
  • Excellent organizational skills, multi‑tasking ability, and attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and database systems.
  • Ability to represent the museum with integrity, adhere to policies, and support management decisions positively.

Responsibilities

  • Define scope, develop work and resource plans, build timelines and budgets, lead meetings, and deliver projects from concept through implementation, including strategic plan and grant projects.
  • Support the Museum Director in research, data analysis, and management of special projects; liaise with internal and external stakeholders to achieve museum objectives.
  • Directly manages certain departments of the museum, including but not limited to Information Technology.
  • Conduct research and collect data for the development and/or revision of museum strategic plans, protocols, policies and procedures and makes recommendations to the Museum Director and staff regarding potential policy changes.
  • Serve as primary contact for external partners including the University of Florida Foundation, AAM, government officials, foundations, and donors.
  • As assigned, maintaining flexibility to support museum operations and initiatives.
