About The Position
The Municipal Portfolio Manager is a Vice President on the Customized Bond Portfolio (CBP) team within J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (GFICC) team. The role helps manage municipal bond strategies. CBP manages approximately $200 billion in fixed-income assets across approximately 100,000 separately managed accounts. The Municipal Bond Portfolio Management team oversees approximately 35,000 separately managed accounts with $100 billion in assets under management, focused on investment-grade municipal credit across active and laddered strategies, with rigorous credit oversight integral to selection.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of buy-side industry portfolio management experience.
- Experience using Bloomberg.
- Adaptable, innovative, team-oriented, and results-oriented, with the ability to bring proactive solutions to the broader portfolio management team.
- Excellent responsiveness and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with external clients and internal partners.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with separately managed accounts (SMAs) and the Investortools Perform system.
- Ability to design repeatable reporting pipelines using APIs or exports and a programming language of choice.
- Proficiency with portfolio, risk, and trading systems such as OMS/EMS, risk, and performance/attribution systems.
Responsibilities
- Play an active role in investment and portfolio construction decisions for existing and new accounts.
- Collaborate with Credit Research teams to identify market trends, analyze individual credits, and assess relative value across securities.
- Work with a wide range of teams to improve portfolio management processes and enhance efficiency.
- Prepare and present market commentary and views, and respond to stakeholder inquiries.
- Meet with internal and external clients and prospects.
