About The Position

The VP, Portfolio Management is an individual-contributor role performing financial analysis and preparing underwriting documents for multimillion-dollar corporate credit requests. The role supports growth in funded assets and Key’s client base while maintaining asset quality within a moderate risk profile. Credit requests may include new, occasionally complex exposures—such as revolving credit facilities, term loans, leases, foreign exchange products, derivatives, and other ancillary products—as well as amendments to existing exposure. The position also manages ongoing credit monitoring and risk ratings for a portfolio of corporate clients, with complexity commensurate with experience. The portfolio primarily includes participation in other banks’ syndicated deals, with a small number of left-lead deals. The VP reviews legal documentation and helps product partners cross-sell bank products. They demonstrate leadership in underwriting and portfolio management, working independently or alongside other Portfolio Managers and providing guidance to junior staff as appropriate. As part of the first line of defense, the role supports business growth while maintaining a moderate risk appetite and upholding asset quality. The position is hybrid, generally requiring three or more days per week in the office for employees near a KeyBank facility. Cleveland, Ohio is strongly preferred. A home-based option may be considered for candidates who are not located near a KeyBank location, with travel as needed. Occasional travel, including overnight stays, may be required.
