About The Position

Municipal decisions regularly shape our daily lives. More than policy makers for traffic lights, garbage collection, and sidewalks, this course will expose students to the municipal legislative framework, including municipal governance, elections, land use planning, heritage, and freedom of information and privacy issues. Students will practically apply course concepts to contemporary problems facing municipalities through local case studies.

Requirements

  • PhD or LLM or JD
  • Degree in Law or Political Science
  • Internal member of the CTF bargaining unit
  • CV
  • Candidate Application Form (CAF)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the practice of law

Responsibilities

  • Teach Municipal Law & Pol in Ontario course
  • Apply course concepts to contemporary problems facing municipalities through local case studies
  • Deliver instruction in a lecture format
  • Manage a class size of approximately 50 students
