About The Position

The Oregon Judicial Department (OJD) is seeking a Specialty Court Programs Supervisor for the Multnomah County Circuit Court. This role is crucial in supporting the community by ensuring fair and efficient resolution of court cases. Requirements

  • At least four (4) years of recent experience managing/supervising staff (or as a lead worker or in another leadership position with increasing responsibilities) directly or through lead workers or lower-level supervisors, performing clerical, analytical, technical, or professional-level duties, or a related field.
  • Management, supervisory, or leadership experience must include most or all of the following: developing and updating policies and procedures, hiring or recommending hiring, assigning and reviewing work, evaluating performance, responding to staff concerns, and handling disciplinary actions.
  • Experience in participating in organizational development, overseeing or assisting with the development and management of program budgets.
  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, accounting, criminal justice, criminology, sociology, psychology, public health, behavioral sciences, social services, or a related field.
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to eight (8) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, assign, monitor, and evaluate the work of the Specialty Court Programs staff.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain procedures and resource manuals.
  • Serve as a liaison to internal and external partner agencies in support of the programs.
  • Discuss organizational policy and/or procedural changes with other supervisors, administrative personnel, and judges.
  • Train and cross-train new and existing employees within the unit.
  • Resolve employee conflicts, document performance issues, develop work improvement plans, and issue disciplinary actions.
  • Handle administrative duties including reviewing and approving/denying leave requests, ensuring FMLA/OFLA/PLO requests are submitted, reviewing and verifying timesheets, and requesting/completing recruitments for the unit.
  • Adapt to assigned tasks as workload and organizational needs change.
