About The Position

We are working with a successful Government Agency in Austin, Texas, to find a Multimedia Technician / AV & VTC Support Specialist to join a small team. This is a limited, part-time engagement — approximately 2–3 days of work per quarter. This is a contract position. You must be based in Austin or able to commute to Austin. Work occurs on-site during scheduled meeting days. The agency is seeking a skilled support technician to improve service responsiveness, increase productivity, minimize downtime, and enhance the overall experience for its quarterly Open Board of Directors Meetings and closed Executive Sessions. The successful candidate will provide timely technical assistance, support executive-level meetings and events, and ensure reliable operation of VTC and end-user technology services. This includes delivering on-site video teleconferencing (VTC) and technical support in the office, as well as some travel throughout the state as required to support operational and VTC needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years providing white-glove, executive-level technical support
  • Minimum 5 years providing end-user technical support
  • Minimum 5 years supporting PC hardware and performing software installation/configuration
  • Minimum 5 years troubleshooting IT hardware and peripherals in an enterprise environment
  • Minimum 5 years supporting Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams
  • Minimum 4 years supporting video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Webex, Teams)

Responsibilities

  • Set up, connect, and test all VTC and end-user technology ahead of quarterly Open Board Meetings and closed Executive Sessions
  • Coordinate meeting links, calendar invites, and public posting requirements
  • Serve as Zoom Host and IT Lead during meetings, ensuring seamless transitions between open and closed sessions
  • Ensure meetings are recorded in compliance with applicable open-meetings recording requirements
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in real time to prevent interruptions
  • Disconnect, disassemble, and store equipment after meetings; restore meeting room to pre-meeting condition
  • Manage meeting recordings/minutes and handle records per agency retention policy
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside technical teams as needed
