About The Position

The Multimedia Specialist I will oversee the production of the lab’s media, including podcasts and videos. This role involves scheduling guests, selecting topics, editing content, releasing and promoting it, organizing supporting materials, and ensuring ADA compliance. The specialist will also develop educational and promotional video content for various platforms and capture footage of workshops and events, which may require travel. Additionally, the role includes graphic design for online and print materials, updating templates, and coordinating printing. Web and course management responsibilities include maintaining the HBREL website, troubleshooting issues, overseeing online courses, communicating with participants, grading assignments, maintaining records, issuing certificates, and promoting courses. Social media management involves collaborating on content, creating schedules, responding to inquiries, and posting content. The role also requires tracking annual extension reporting data by collecting audience engagement numbers and documenting content impact.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma
  • One year of appropriate experience
  • Good verbal and writing skills
  • Ability to develop project management plans and communication management plans

  • Communication skills: ability to communicate across workstreams, university administration, and various beekeeping related stakeholders

  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Audition, Premier Pro)

  • Experience with social media management and content planning (Instagram, Facebook, X, Meta Business Suite)
  • Familiarity with audio & video editing
  • Familiarity with graphic design principles, UF/IFAS design guidelines, and ADA compliance
  • Familiarity with web design principles, UF/IFAS web guidelines, and ADA compliance
  • Experience in Terminal4 preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of honey bees and/or beekeeping is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the production of the lab’s media (podcast, videos, etc.)
  • Schedule guests and select episode topics
  • Edit segments and episodes
  • Release and promote content
  • Organize supporting content and additional resources per episode
  • Ensure content is ADA compliant
  • Develop short-form and long-form educational and promotional video content for stakeholders across various platforms
  • Capture footage of HBREL Extension workshops and events
  • Design graphics for UF/IFAS HBREL online graphics standards
  • Update and revise graphic templates as needed
  • Develop all necessary printed and virtual materials for HBREL Extension workshops and events
  • Coordinate the printing of all necessary materials by appropriate deadlines
  • Maintain and update the HBREL website (www.ufhoneybee.com)
  • Troubleshoot and correct any web issues that arise
  • Oversee the UF/IFAS HBREL online courses
  • Communicate with participants enrolled in the courses
  • Grade submitted assignments in a timely manner
  • Keep an organized record of student requirements
  • Issue certificates when students have completed all necessary requirements to complete the course
  • Promote all HBREL online courses
  • Collaborate on the development of social media content
  • Create and maintain an active social media content schedule
  • Respond to any inquiries made to HBREL social media
  • Post educational and promotional content as needed
  • Collect and document numbers from audience engagement
  • Document impact from content created
