About The Position

Freddie Mac's Multifamily Division is seeking talented and creative individuals to support its objectives, projects, and initiatives. This dynamic organization offers interns a wide variety of experiences and responsibilities to build technical and soft skills, as well as their network. Interns will actively work on real-world projects and deals, providing broad exposure to Freddie Mac’s important role in the mortgage industry and developing skills applicable to a career in commercial real estate. The division helps ensure an ample supply of affordable rental housing by purchasing mortgages secured by apartment buildings with five or more units, providing mortgage funding for apartment loans throughout the nation. This funding spans large metropolitan areas, mid-market cities, and smaller communities, housing a wide array of renters.

Requirements

Pursuing Master’s degree in Finance, Quantitative Analytics, Math/Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline.
Graduation date between December 2027 – May 2028.
Availability to work May – August 2027.
Ability to learn new skills / concepts quickly.
Effective communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal.
Problem solving ability.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively.
Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

Conduct pricing modeling and security function.
Leverage portfolio data and models to assist in the monitoring and assessment of portfolio performance, credit trends, and capital management.
Assist with ensuring credit, portfolio, and risk management capabilities have an integrated risk management approach across the portfolio.
Interact with all levels of employees including senior management on various projects.
Build relationships across the organization to assist with customer partnerships.
Selected for a short-term project in the Modeling & Research area of the Capital Markets or Portfolio and Risk Management Departments.
