2027 Summer Intern – Performance Analysis

General MotorsConcord, NC

About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a summer internship in our Performance Analysis team. As a member of our group, you will be responsible for complex analytical work and will see a multi-faceted project – chosen to reflect team priorities at the start of the internship – through to completion. Given the breadth of areas we work in, an aptitude in vehicle dynamics, controls, optimization, and data analytics will serve as a strong foundation, but a successful candidate will be driven by genuine curiosity to better understand the subject matter and ingenuity in finding the optimal solution. As an intern, you will work with a senior mentor to learn specialized industry knowledge and track project progress through a regular series of touchpoints. Our Performance Analysis team is a small, highly skilled group dedicated to advancing our organization’s ability to derive actionable insight from the data and tools available across the GM Motorsport program. To accomplish this, the group must collaborate across the greater Motorsports organization to identify, develop, and implement projects with long term value and learning potential. This work can take many forms; whether it is developing performance metrics, creating analysis procedures, refining and validating simulation tools, or implementing methods to extract greater learnings from many data sources we acquire, a diverse set of skills, ranging from vehicle dynamics to data analytics, is regularly required.
