Port Tampa Bay (PTB) is a leader in the maritime industry, Florida's largest and most diverse seaport, acting as the primary gateway for waterborne commerce in West Central Florida. It's a major economic engine with a significant economic impact and job creation, handling a wide variety of cargo including bulk, break-bulk, roll-on/roll-off, and container cargo. We also support cruise activities and ship repair facilities. This role performs diverse tasks including but not limited to set up and break down for events at designated facilities; moving furniture; assembling cubicles; performing routine inspections. These tasks may require occasional adjusted schedules such as nights, weekends, holidays. The position also involves performing complex repairs, maintenance, or new construction on port buildings, port tenant buildings, and any other facilities. Additionally, the role is responsible for preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, passenger bridges, water and sewer systems, fire pumps, generators, fire protection, electrical systems, and HVAC systems. Job planning, material purchasing for complex projects, and ensuring all safety-related needs are met are also key aspects of this position. The Multi-Trades Worker II will maintain and operate port heavy equipment, tools, vehicles, and passenger bridges, among other duties.
