About The Position

MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care, a part of MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Downtown, is seeking a Multi-Modality Technologist. As the health care system of the Medical University of South Carolina, MUSC Health is dedicated to delivering the highest-quality and safest patient care. This role is responsible for effectively explaining procedures to patients, ensuring competence in performing procedures, and producing images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. The technologist must be able to produce high-quality special imaging with little supervision and function effectively in a team-oriented environment, while being familiar with age-specific criteria.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • Two years of radiologic experience in two or more modalities.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Must be licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association in both Radiography & CT.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • At least 2 years of multi-modality experience.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARRT Advanced Modality Registration, and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

  • Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively explain procedures to the patient.
  • Be competent in the procedure being performed.
  • Produce images for the interpretation, and/or request of, a licensed practitioner.
  • Produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Be familiar with age specific criteria.
  • Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.
