About The Position

MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care, a part of MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Downtown, is seeking a Multi-Modality Technologist II. This role involves providing quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities. The technologist will be responsible for explaining procedures to patients, ensuring competence in performing procedures, and producing high-quality images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. The position requires a strong understanding of age-specific criteria and the ability to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • Two years of radiologic experience in two or more modalities.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association in both Radiography & CT.
  • Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be familiar with age specific criteria.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • At least 2 years of multi-modality experience.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARRT Advanced Modality Registration, and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities.
  • Effectively explains procedures to the patient.
  • Ensures competence in the procedure being performed.
  • Produces images for the interpretation, and/or request of, a licensed practitioner.
  • Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.
  • Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.
