About The Position
Guitar Center is hiring a Music Teacher to teach music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The teacher helps increase and retain student enrollment while supporting each student’s growth, development, and enjoyment of music. The role also contributes to a welcoming store culture grounded in integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. Teachers partner with students and families through frequent communication, build trusting relationships, and share updates on student goals, progress, and development. They may also assist with Customer service as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Music, Education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area to be taught.
Responsibilities
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Help students continue to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music.
- Assist with Customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships through a great experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child.
- Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or their parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
