About The Position

Reporting to the medRISE manager, this person is a member of a team of research administration professionals who each have a portfolio of projects. This position will assist principal investigators with the planning, development, submission and administration of competitive grant proposals to a variety of federal and non-federal funding sources. This position will also provide support to principal investigators for post-award management of funded proposals. This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in both pre- and post-award grant management
  • Experience interpreting and applying budgetary and compliance requirements of major funding agencies (federal, state, and private)
  • Experience in grant writing, editing, and formatting
  • Experience collaborating with research administrators and Principal Investigators
  • Experience with Workday, RAMP, and/or Cayuse

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and approves programmatic transactions spanning the life-cycle of sponsored projects to ensure compliance with institutional and/or sponsor policies and procedures
  • Responsible for marketing medRISE services and growing the medRISE office including management of the workflow tracking system and billing for services.
  • Provides training to faculty, staff, and/or administrators within the unit regarding policy, procedure, and/or execution of sponsored project administration
  • Executes research administration operational policies and procedures including financial, administrative, staffing, and compliance on behalf of a unit
  • Executes activities related to financial compliance, audit, or reporting on behalf of a unit
  • Executes activities related to proposal submission, contract negotiation, and/or award setup on behalf of a unit
  • May supervise the day-to-day activities of research administration staff
  • Manages medRISE websites, which provide grant writing resources for staff, students, and faculty and an online Grants Library Repository featuring funded grant proposals and funding opportunities.
  • Serves as a key resource to leadership and staff in the unit as well as a liaison to partners and stakeholders
  • Participate in development of tools and resources that streamline proposal development and post award management of sponsored grants and contracts
