About The Position

ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. is seeking Multi-crafted Electro-mechanical Technicians for their Manufacturing Mechanical Equipment Technician role. This position focuses on devising, fabricating, installing, calibrating, testing, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems involving the movement of physical components. The role also includes assisting mechanical engineers with developing technical solutions, installing, calibrating, repairing, and upgrading components of mechanical manufacturing devices and systems, devising, fabricating, and assembling new or modified mechanical components for manufacturing machinery and equipment, and conducting quality assurance/control tests and procedures. This is an entry-level position that typically requires little to no prior knowledge or experience, with routine work under close supervision. Immediate openings are available on 3rd Shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM), and candidates should be flexible and available to work their assigned shift, including overtime as needed. The CS SU BU Manufacturing Mechanical Equipment Technician - Non Exempt within the Astemo Suspension business unit serves to support the many functions of the Manufacturing area.

Requirements

  • 2 years related education, experience and/or training in a similar position.
  • Candidates with multi-crafted electro-mechanical, automotive, farm equipment, industrial maintenance, or related mechanical experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
  • Work with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations, define issues, collect/establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of machine/part drawings.
  • Can identify and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Apply best practices for repair of mechanical components/systems.
  • Can troubleshoot and repair electrical components.
  • Manipulate and troubleshoot PLC and robot programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting mechanical engineers with developing technical solutions related to the operation and performance of mechanical devices and systems.
  • Installing, calibrating, repairing, and upgrading components of mechanical manufacturing devices and systems.
  • Devising, fabricating, and assembling new or modified mechanical components for manufacturing machinery and equipment.
  • Conducting quality assurance/control tests and procedures.
  • Resolve production equipment concerns, including troubleshooting and implementing continuous improvements within a cross-functional team.
  • Adhere to ASI's Safety Policy and practices and report any potential unsafe condition or concern to the Safety department immediately and/or to your direct supervisor.
  • Ensure proper safety practices are in place and enforced.
  • Promote, improve and enforce 6S and safety objectives.
