About The Position

Creates, modifies, routes, and installs aircraft system wire harnesses on manned and unmanned aircraft. Performs aircraft operational and functional testing of newly installed or modified electrical and avionics systems. Troubleshoots and repairs electrical and avionics systems in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, and company directives. Reads and interprets schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Assembles, modifies, routes, and installs wire bundles, connectors, and other electrical components in confined spaces. Uses manual hand tools including wire crimpers, wire strippers, wire cutters, and heat shrink guns. Uses basic test equipment such as multi-meters and aircraft system specific related test equipment. Documents maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, and parts requests. Works with customers, contractors, and hardware engineers to implement system requirements. Provides technical and operational knowledge for assessment and repair or maintenance recommendations.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong background with aircraft system theory.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Experience assembling, modifying, routing, and installing wire bundles, connectors, and electrical components.
  • Experience using manual hand tools including wire crimpers, wire strippers, wire cutters, and heat shrink guns.
  • Experience using basic test equipment such as multi-meters and aircraft system specific test equipment.
  • Ability to document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, and parts requests.
  • Ability to stoop, stand, climb, and lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
