About The Position
Ascension St. Joseph - Chicago is seeking an MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist for 8 hours per week. This role is part of a highly reliable scientific organization building a culture of service, committed to advancing health, wellness, and continuity of care in the communities served. Ascension St. Joseph is one of the largest integrated laboratory networks serving hospitals in the Midwest region, with a network including 32 hospitals and multiple physician offices.
Requirements
- MLT: Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- MT: Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
- Or Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.
Responsibilities
- Specimen processing
- Test performance
- Reporting test results
- Performing waived, moderate and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director
- Reporting results of all tests performed according to established procedures
- Participating fully in all quality control procedures
- Complying with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies
- Performing specimen collection as necessary
