MSW Visiting Assistant Professor of Social Work Job Description (Full-time, 8-Month Position): DUTIES: The selected candidate will serve as an instructor in the MSW program, teaching courses across the curriculum at the micro, mezzo, and macro level. The teaching load is 24 credits, 12 in both the fall and spring semesters. Courses will be taught in-person or synchronously online based on candidate availability. The candidate will participate in activities serving the department, such as attending department meetings, attending faculty assembly meetings, and contributing to program development and assessment.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
  • Earned doctorate in social work or related field by August 1, 2026.
  • At least two years post-master’s social work degree practice experience.
  • Ability to teach courses across the social work curriculum at both the MSW and BSW level, although principal assignment will be to the master’s program.
  • Proven ability to work with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds and identities in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.

  • Familiarity with face-to-face and blended/online platforms.
