About The Position

MHY Family Services is looking for a passionate Mental Health Supervisor to join their team in Allegheny County. This position will provide support to the Multi Systemic (MST) Therapy team. The role involves overseeing and administering MST services, ensuring appropriate supervision, accurate documentation, and timely reporting in alignment with MHY goals. The supervisor will also act as a liaison to referral sources, address performance issues, and provide training to staff therapists. The position requires a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, with licensure required. Prior experience in family and youth therapies, social skills assessment, and child development approaches is strongly preferred. The role also requires prior supervisory experience and a valid PA driver's license with an insurable driving record. Must be 21 years of age with current FBI and Act 33/34 Clearances. PC skills including common MS Office applications are necessary. Additional training or licensing may be required.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field of study
  • Demonstrated success in the clinical treatment of youth with serious antisocial behavior.
  • Licensure required.
  • Prior experience in family and youth therapies using cognitive and behavioral approaches strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in social skills assessment and intervention and child development approaches.
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Current FBI and Act 33/34 Clearances.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Current PA state driver’s license with evidence of an insurable driving record required.
  • Must possess demonstrated PC skills including common MS Office applications.
  • Additional training or licensing as required by regulations, or as deemed necessary by the Executive Director or Director.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and administers the delivery of MST Services to youth and their families directly, or through staff therapists.
  • Ensures appropriate supervision, accurate documentation and related reporting occurs in a timely manner and in alignment with MHY goals and strategies.
  • Conducts individual and group supervisions with MST therapists on a weekly basis to ensure the fidelity of the MST model, including its principles and processes.
  • Provides individual supervision to MST therapists as necessary in support of competency development and appropriate delivery of MST treatment.
  • Ensures accurate documentation of clinical services to permit appropriate peer and supervisory review, and to meet the reporting needs of funding and referral sources.
  • Effectively serves as a liaison to referral sources to promote MST services.
  • Responds to staff therapist performance problems promptly and effectively, and defines related goals and timelines within performance plans to support outcomes.
  • Addresses administrative systemic and operational obstacles, either individually or with the Director as needed.
  • Ensures that administrative or clinical support is provided to therapists as needed.
  • Ensures that therapists are available to clients as needed to promote engagement, and that all therapist are achieving engagement with clients as anticipated.
  • Provides organizational and MST training to staff therapists on both a group and individual basis as required and necessary.
  • Ensures that assessments are comprehensive, multisystemic, and provide adequate information to identify the causes and correlates of referral behavior in order to direct effective treatment within the environmental context.
  • Completes all documentation in an accurate and timely manner in support of organizational and treatment objectives, including that which is necessary for State, County or managed care audits.
  • Collaborates with staff, other managers and partnering agencies in support of outcomes and objectives set forth by MHY.
  • Attends group and team meetings as required.
