About The Position

The MS Purview Data Architect will support South Dakota’s Medicaid Modernization by developing Medicaid-related data definition, governance, and management deliverables. The work includes gathering requirements with state IT resources and DSS staff, assessing data sources, current data mappings, and interface structures, and documenting system interactions and data flows. Direct access to mainframe data will not be available; work involving that data must be conducted through state IT resources. Deliverables include a Medicaid application Interface Registry; missing Interface Control Documents (ICDs); an Interface Management Plan; data models and, if needed, a data warehouse structure; a data catalog and data lineage; a Data Governance and Management Plan; and recommendations for tools and improvements to data governance, documentation, management, sharing, and system integration. The architect will identify risks such as data inconsistencies, integration challenges, and security or compliance issues, and provide monthly status reports. Work unrelated to Medicaid data management deliverables is out of scope. The project is based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and is described as remote.
