About The Position

CSAA Insurance Group is hiring a remote Data Solutions Architect to lead strategy and architecture for enterprise data, ontology, and AI platforms. The role establishes scalable standards and solutions across Palantir, Snowflake, and AWS, creating a semantic foundation for analytics, operational workflows, and AI. The architect partners with technology and business leaders to define standards, patterns, and roadmaps for secure, governed, and cost-effective enterprise data use. The position owns enterprise Ontology strategy and Palantir Foundry/AIP architecture, including object models, semantic standards, domain ownership, and governance. It defines architectures for data platforms, cloud and enterprise integrations, and AI, GenAI, and agentic workflows. The role also leads architecture reviews, develops business cases and roadmaps, guides technical leads, and establishes reusable architecture practices. The role is remote within the United States, excluding Hawaii and Alaska. Employees primarily work from home, with flexibility to work from CSAA offices and attend in-person meetings as needed. Visa sponsorship is not provided; applicants must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States.

  • Deep expertise in enterprise data modeling (conceptual, logical, and semantic), ontology/knowledge graph concepts, data mesh and data product thinking, and domain-driven design.
  • Strong architecture expertise with AWS, cloud-native patterns, event-driven and API-based integration, high availability, observability, and infrastructure as code.
  • Architecture-level experience with Snowflake, Kafka/MSK, Spark, Bedrock, and SageMaker; sufficient Python and SQL fluency to evaluate designs and review implementations.
  • Experience architecting AI/ML, GenAI, RAG, and agentic AI solutions, including governance and Responsible AI controls.
  • Working knowledge of data governance frameworks, regulatory and privacy requirements, and security architecture.
  • Familiarity with TOGAF, ArchiMate, or comparable enterprise architecture frameworks and tooling.
  • Ability to influence senior technology and business leaders and communicate architecture decisions to executive audiences.
  • Experience leading architecture governance forums and driving alignment across domains and delivery teams.
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to balance strategic direction with pragmatic delivery constraints.

  • Define reference architectures and usage patterns for Foundry and AIP capabilities, and establish guardrails for their use.
  • Establish how the Ontology integrates with systems of record, the enterprise data platform, and downstream applications.
  • Define architecture for AI, GenAI, and agentic workflows grounded in the Ontology, including LLM/RAG patterns, agent boundaries, human-in-the-loop controls, and Responsible AI requirements.
  • Define the target-state data architecture and roadmap, including data models, domain boundaries, data product standards, and data mesh/lakehouse operating patterns.
  • Set standards for data integration, API, and event-driven patterns across structured and unstructured data and platform technologies.
  • Establish data governance, lineage, metadata, quality, privacy, and security requirements with relevant partner teams.
  • Rationalize the data and analytics platform portfolio and define interoperability among Snowflake, Palantir, and AWS data services.
  • Provide architecture direction for AWS data and AI capabilities, focusing on patterns, security, resiliency, observability, and cost.
  • Define integration standards between the data platform, ontology layer, and enterprise applications.
  • Lead architecture reviews for data and AI initiatives; approve solution designs and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and roadmaps.
  • Develop business cases, capability maps, and executive-level architecture narratives connecting data and AI investments to business outcomes.
  • Guide infrastructure and engineering leads; maintain reusable patterns, principles, and architecture decision records.
