MS Dynamics Solution Architect

SingleStone & WayPathRichmond, VA

About The Position

As a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Solution Architect, you will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for designing and guiding the delivery of scalable, high-quality solutions across the Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform ecosystem. This is a highly client-facing role that sits at the intersection of technology, consulting, delivery, and sales. You will work directly with clients to understand their business and technical challenges, advise them on the right approach, and translate their needs into practical solution architectures and implementation strategies. You will also play a key role in pre-sales and business development, partnering with client leaders and sales teams on discovery conversations, solutioning, estimates, proposals, presentations, and Statements of Work (SOWs). You should be equally comfortable whiteboarding an architecture with a technical team, advising an executive on technology strategy, and joining a sales call to help shape and communicate a solution. Internally, you will serve as a technical leader and mentor, helping strengthen our Dynamics capabilities and coaching consultants and developers across engagements.

Requirements

  • Significant experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365, particularly Dynamics 365 CRM/Customer Engagement.
  • Deep understanding of Dynamics 365 architecture, configuration, customization, Dataverse, security, workflows, plugins, integrations, and data migration.
  • Strong experience with Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse.
  • Experience designing solutions that integrate Dynamics 365 with other enterprise systems and third-party platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based architecture and integration patterns.
  • Technical proficiency with technologies such as C#, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, APIs, SQL, and Azure services.
  • Experience with integration and migration technologies such as Azure Integration Services, APIs, SSIS, KingswaySoft, or similar tools.
  • Experience participating in pre-sales activities, technical discovery, solutioning, estimating, proposals, presentations, and SOW development.
  • Ability to quickly understand a client's business problem and translate it into a clear technical strategy and solution.
  • Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with executives, business stakeholders, architects, and developers.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor technical team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and recommend practical solutions.

  • Design solutions incorporating Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Azure services, and third-party technologies as appropriate.
  • Establish technical standards, architecture patterns, development practices, and governance approaches.
  • Remain hands-on enough technically to validate approaches, develop proofs of concept, and step into complex technical conversations when needed.
  • Provide technical coaching and mentorship to Dynamics developers, consultants, and other technical team members.
  • Help teams make sound architecture and development decisions while encouraging ownership and growth.
  • Establish and promote best practices for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform development and implementation.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, helping them evaluate options and make informed technology decisions.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Help clients understand the capabilities, limitations, tradeoffs, and opportunities within the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing solutions, modernize architecture, simplify processes, and increase adoption of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
  • Build strong relationships with client technology leaders and become someone they rely on for technical guidance beyond an individual project.
  • Participate in prospect and client sales calls as the Dynamics/Microsoft technical subject matter expert.
  • Lead or support technical discovery during the sales process.
  • Understand a prospective client's needs and help determine the appropriate technical approach, architecture, team structure, timeline, and level of effort.
  • Develop solution concepts and architectures that clearly connect client challenges to proposed solutions.
  • Partner with sales, client leadership, and delivery teams to develop proposals, estimates, presentations, Statements of Work (SOWs), and implementation roadmaps.
  • Help scope engagements accurately and identify technical assumptions, dependencies, risks, and constraints.
  • Identify additional opportunities within existing client relationships and help shape those opportunities into actionable engagements.
