About The Position

The Middle School Archery Head Coach at English Station Campus is responsible for interacting directly with coaches, parents, and student-athletes as a representative of Christian Academy. The coach is expected to live and coach in a manner that leads student-athletes to righteousness in all areas of life, particularly in their athletic development. This role emphasizes coaching from a biblical perspective, fostering a positive and encouraging environment, and promoting the holistic character development of athletes.

Requirements

A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit.
A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school.
Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith.
Strong commitment to Christian Academy Mission Statement and athletic philosophy.
Ability to encourage partnerships with parents, coaches, students, and other schools.
Managerial and coaching experience.

Responsibilities

Coach from a biblical perspective and reflect Jesus Christ to athletes.
Create a winning environment by displaying a positive attitude and providing daily encouragement.
Teach athletes sound, safe fundamental techniques of archery throughout the season.
Promote honesty, integrity, humility, loyalty, and unity, encouraging the total character development of athletes.
Promote and encourage the success of all other programs, emphasizing multi-sport athletes and collaboration.
Establish team rules regarding practice attendance, lateness, and care of uniforms/equipment.
Maintain a physical presence at the gym/field when supervising.
Cover practice expectations in a pre-season meeting and/or informational letter.
Recruit and hire competent and professional assistant coaches.
Advise and give direction to lower-level squads in areas such as fundamentals, drills, patterns, offenses, defenses, conditioning, and coaching techniques.
Monitor Christian Academy compliance with KHSAA rules and regulations.
Operate within the annual budget and report spending for the sport.
Supervise the coaching staff of the sport program on all levels to ensure athletes and coaches are growing spiritually.
Recruit, hire, retain, and develop a competent and professional staff that supports excellence from the Athletics Department.
