About The Position

Under general supervision of the Plant Controller, the MRO Buyer is responsible for all purchasing functions at Production Products. This role involves determining the source of new supplies, quoting items to find the best value, and supervising crib attendants. The buyer will also train and instruct on proper inventory management, stocking, placement, controlled access, and ordering of stock parts. Additionally, they will evaluate and determine stock items and quantities, expedite orders, and negotiate payment terms, price, and freight. The position requires maintaining the inventory database, issuing and regulating new part numbers and supplies, and establishing favorable vendor relationships. The MRO Buyer will log purchase orders, maintain purchasing records, review and approve daily receipts, and investigate unusual supply demands. Responsibilities also include managing Material Data Safety Sheets, ensuring proper chemical labeling, and managing the storage of recycled universal waste (excluding liquids), along with associated paperwork, logs, and manifests for special waste (EMS).

Requirements

  • Must be able to negotiate contract for the purchase of goods and services.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and exert up to 25 pounds of pressure on occasion.

  • Maintain purchasing records for all vendors.
  • Review and approve daily receipts.
  • Investigate unusual supply demands.
  • Properly manage Material Data Safety Sheets.
  • Maintain proper chemical labeling going through the crib.
  • Manage storage of recycled universal waste (excluding liquids).
  • Manage paperwork, logs and manifests associated with special waste (EMS).
  • Perform other essential functions as assigned.
