About The Position

This role involves managing MRO (Maintenance, Repairs and Operations) inventory, including tracking, pricing, usage, and ideal stocking levels. The coordinator will work with Plant Engineers and the Purchasing Manager on cost-saving initiatives, verify incoming materials, maintain inventory records using an ERP system, and monitor consumable MRO items and safety supplies. Key duties also include generating purchase requisitions, executing releases on standing orders, coordinating commodity releases, assisting and training requisitioners, and identifying new supply sources. The position requires receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming materials, conducting physical inventories, and initiating purchase requisitions for various supplies. Daily tasks involve advanced PC and business computer applications, telephone conferencing, and email. The coordinator must understand and assist with RIS’ Occupational Health & Safety program and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, maintain Ross 40-hour safety training, and perform field duties including pre-shutdown checklists.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must have basic computer skills in the use of computerized inventory systems.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Must be able to perform detailed work, to work in a systematic order, to have a good memory, to be able to read well and write legibly and be able to do mathematical computations.
  • Must be even temperament, patient, and able to work well with others.
  • Must have good math and reading skills with strict attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate degree in business, math, accounting or bookkeeping is a plus.
  • Two to five years’ experience in purchasing desirable.
  • Two to five year’s experience in shipping and receiving, which includes the use of computerized inventory systems, desirable.

Responsibilities

  • MRO(Maintenance, Repairs and Operations) Inventory reporting tracking pricing, usage and ideal stocking levels.
  • Work with Plant Engineers and Purchasing Manager on cost saving initiatives as required.
  • Works with department heads to verify incoming material by comparing identifying information and by counting, weighing or measuring items against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other documentation.
  • Utilizing the ERP system, maintain inventory records and process receiving and inventory transactions in accordance with established procedures
  • Monitor and track specified consumable MRO inventory items as well as certain safety supplies and PPE. Generate purchase requisitions when inventory levels reach their established reorder points
  • Execute releases on standing orders. Monitor and coordinate the release of commodities such as Caustic, Fuel and Drums, publishing weekly schedules
  • Assist requisitioners who need help generating requisitions and train new users when requested
  • Research and identify potential new sources of supply and help requisitioners identify appropriate sources for their needs
  • Receives, unloads and inspects all incoming purchased material, rejects damaged items, records shortages, corresponds with shipper and requisitioner to rectify damages and shortages and stores material in proper location.
  • Provides physical inventories of materials for RIS in multiple locations, replenish as required.
  • Writes releases on standing orders. Initiates purchases requisitions for miscellaneous supplies as needed for maintenance, operations and EHS.
  • Daily use of advanced PC and business computer applications, telephone conferencing and e-mail.
  • Understands both RIS’ Occupational Health & Safety program and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and assists with executing their objectives.
  • Maintain Ross 40-hour safety training
  • Some duties require going into the field and will require conducting a pre-shutdown checklist in advance of shutdown
  • Performs other job-related duties assigned.
