About The Position

Agave is seeking a highly organized and proactive MRO Materials Coordinator to support maintenance and operations through effective coordination of materials, tools, and equipment. This role is responsible for managing procurement requests, tracking material flow through the work order lifecycle, and ensuring timely availability of materials to support maintenance execution. This position plays a critical role in optimizing inventory processes, supporting CMMS accuracy, managing vendor interactions, and driving continuous improvement in material coordination and storeroom operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, data-driven, and experienced in MRO storeroom, procurement, or maintenance support environments.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
3–5+ years of experience in MRO, materials coordination, or maintenance support
Experience with CMMS/ERP systems (SAP, Maximo, or similar preferred)
Knowledge of procurement processes, purchase orders, and vendor coordination
Understanding of inventory control, including stock vs. non-stock and reorder points
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage inventory accuracy and material flow
Ability to track and communicate material status and key performance metrics
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer systems
Forklift experience and ability to safely operate equipment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and work independently
Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
Prolonged periods standing, walking, and working in a storeroom or warehouse environment
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

Create and manage material, tool, and equipment requests through the procurement system, including confirming delivery dates
Review and validate purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with company policies
Interface with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, track orders, resolve issues, and support cost-effective purchasing decisions
Track and monitor material and equipment orders through receipt
Maintain accurate material order and delivery status within the CMMS to support visibility and the work order lifecycle
Support receiving, verification, and stocking of materials to ensure inventory accuracy
Monitor inventory levels and support reorder point management to ensure material availability
Collaborate with maintenance and operations to optimize stocked parts and inventory levels
Coordinate surplus material disposition, including returning unused materials to stock or vendors
Provide requisitioning and material support for maintenance, operations, and project work
Coordinate repair, return, or replacement of materials, tools, and equipment
Manage and control extrusion tooling
Work closely with procurement, maintenance planning, scheduling, and work coordination teams
Ensure proper stock and non-stock item coding and promote MRO best practices
Optimize storeroom layout and material staging to align with job requirements and workflow trends
Collect and track maintenance KPIs (service level, stockouts, cycle counts, receipt backlog, material delays)
Use metrics to evaluate performance and drive improvements in material coordination and inventory processes
Identify and implement process improvements for MRO inventory and material flow
Support safety initiatives and promote proper material handling practices to reduce risk
Perform other duties as assigned
