About The Position

This position will be part of the Tinker AFB Engine Life Management Team supporting the Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPT’s) responsible for Military Fan hardware. As a Fan Structures Engineer you will support the structural assessment of aftermarket hardware onsite at PW’s new OKC facility outside of Tinker AFB. You will be a part of the MRO-E aftermarket team conducting structural assessments of fielded hardware, engage in aftermarket engineering activities, and interface with other disciplines including design, aero, and manufacturing. You will be responsible for the execution of structural engineering standard work and communicating formally and informally with IPT and CIPT customers. This position is a key role within the aftermarket engineering team as it provides engineering support to repair operations directly tied to military customers.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with 5+ years of Mechanical Design engineering experience OR Advanced degree in an engineering field with 3+ years of experience
  • Experience with hardware and manufacturing methods.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry (specifically gas turbine engines), component manufacturing and associated quality requirements.
  • Excellent communication & collaboration skills and the ability to function across a wide range of disciplines and management levels.
  • Possess strong communication, presentation, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • A working knowledge of ANSYS, P&W Quality Systems, configuration management process.

Responsibilities

  • Execute structural engineering work with the needs of the onsite design, MRO, and ASE representatives of the CIPT supporting engine/hardware investigations and dispositions.
  • Resolve complex mechanical engineering problems, ensuring engineering excellence and balanced system solutions.
  • Conduct stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life and crack growth prediction analyses.
  • Ensure proper documentation and communication of results to internal customers.
  • Collaborate with onsite MRO and Customer Technical Support (CTS) team to address customer queries, review hardware, update maintenance manuals, and resolve field event root cause analyses.
  • Continue to develop an improved personal understanding of the technologies, engine systems, business systems, regulations and business needs of the company and customers.
