About The Position

MRO General Stores is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Clerk to support MRO parts activities. The role requires strong social skills, collaboration, and exceptional customer care, as well as integrity, attention to detail, punctuality, accountability, and accurate, efficient completion of tasks.

The position is based in Chattanooga and follows a weekend shift schedule: Friday 6:00 a.m.–2:45 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 7:00 a.m.–7:45 p.m., and Monday 6:00 a.m.–2:45 p.m. The start date is as soon as possible. The work takes place in both plant and office environments, with shop-floor personal protective equipment required.

Requirements

• Analytical and conceptual thinking, using logic and reason.
• Data-entry and computer skills; MS Office is required.
• Ability to follow standardized work processes.
• Attention to detail.
• Cooperative teamwork.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Fluency in English.
• Ability to operate equipment and tools such as a laptop, cell phone, and scanners.
• Ability to work in a plant and office environment.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and use appropriate support equipment for greater amounts.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment on the shop floor.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.

• SAP experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation supporting individual counts.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
• Assist in MRO part activities as directed by VW management.
• Execute the organization’s values, philosophy, mission, strategy, policies, and standards.
• Achieve operational excellence for strategic indicators.
• Communicate with VW Management.
• Foster a safe work environment and follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the VW Supervisor/Team Lead.
• Issue requested materials to customers and prioritize line-down conditions.
• Document stockouts.
• Enter issued materials into SAP.
• Put away and label parts with VW unique numbers.
• Expedite material-related issues.
• Transfer materials physically and systematically in SAP.
