About The Position

PACCAR is seeking an MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) Buyer to support material ordering, purchase order processing, and provide support to suppliers and end users. PACCAR is a Fortune 500 company, a global leader in the commercial vehicle, financial, and customer service fields, with internationally recognized brands such as Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF trucks. The PACCAR Technical Center, located in the Skagit Valley, Washington, drives innovation in product development and testing for PACCAR's truck, engine, and winch divisions. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of purchasing, billing, financial management, engineering, operations, or related business experience.
  • Experience with production or MRO purchasing, manufacturing, and/or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Creative, quality-focused, and results-driven.
  • Self-motivated team player capable of working with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to develop Return on Investment (ROI) analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders for MRO products and services.
  • Route and distribute purchase orders for approval according to authority matrices.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including cost, quality, delivery, and service requirements.
  • Source suppliers, obtain quotations and bids, and make purchasing decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate and streamline purchasing activities.
  • Develop and implement cost-reduction and supply chain improvement strategies.
  • Support Commodity Managers regarding commercial and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain supplier databases and communications.
  • Issue change orders related to price, specifications, and quantities.
  • Coordinate MRO activities with Administrative, Sales/Marketing, Engineering, and other departments.
  • Monitor product quality and quantity and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies with Accounting and requestors.
  • Use Business Intelligence tools for MRO analysis and reporting.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
