Position Summary We are seeking an experienced MRO Buyer to support manufacturing operations by sourcing, purchasing, and managing Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials, consumables, equipment, and production-related components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, supplier management, inventory planning, and cost reduction within a manufacturing environment. This individual will work closely with production, operations, engineering, and receiving teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow while optimizing inventory levels and supplier performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience sourcing MRO materials, consumables, and production-related components.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems, JIT replenishment, Blanket Orders, and Kanban inventory management.
  • Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and inventory planning.
  • Proven success negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems; Sage ERP experience is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within electronics, industrial manufacturing, technology, or other high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards and quality management systems.
  • Experience supporting supplier development, strategic sourcing, and cost reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Source and procure MRO materials, consumables, equipment, and production-related supplies.
  • Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and obtain competitive supplier quotations.
  • Analyze component pricing, availability, and lead times to support production schedules.
  • Partner with manufacturing, production, operations, and receiving teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
  • Monitor inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Purchase materials for quick-turn and expedited production orders.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements to maximize cost savings and maintain profitability.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, responsiveness, and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintain supplier quotations, purchasing records, and procurement documentation.
  • Analyze and reduce material shortages, overdue purchase orders, excess inventory, and Purchase Price Variance (PPV).
  • Participate in supplier development, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare procurement reports and supplier performance metrics for leadership.
  • Maintain accurate supplier information, pricing, lead times, and part master data within the ERP system.
  • Develop and improve procurement procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier and supply chain challenges.
