About The Position

Adler Pelzer Group, a growing global Tier One supplier of Acoustic and Soft Trim products to the automotive industry, is seeking a strong and motivated MRO Buyer for their manufacturing operations in Thomson, GA. The MRO Buyer is responsible for non-inventory items and ensures that stock levels are maintained at adequate levels. This role involves working directly with plant systems to manage and coordinate supplier deliveries and collaborating with the Maintenance Manager to drive cost reduction initiatives. The position requires managing the purchasing and inventory control process, including supplier communication, PR/PO creation/verification, and monitoring purchase progress within SAP or equivalent software. The buyer will also be responsible for contacting vendors, verifying quotations, observing usage of critical parts, setting stock levels, working with supply chains for continuous supply, placing purchase orders, reacting to work order requests, managing inventory accuracy through daily counts, implementing and managing min/max inventory systems, monitoring open purchase orders for on-time delivery, resolving PR/PO issues to prevent discrepancies, and collaborating with internal customers to provide excellent service and recommend supply solutions.

  • Experience with SAP or equivalent purchasing software
  • Experience verifying quotations from various suppliers
  • Experience observing usage of critical parts and setting adequate minimum and maximum stock amounts
  • Experience working with established supply chains on a set schedule
  • Experience placing purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of MRO material
  • Experience reacting to work order requests of critical parts
  • Experience managing inventory accuracy by performing physical inventory counts
  • Experience implementing and managing min/max inventory management systems
  • Experience monitoring status of open purchase orders
  • Experience managing and resolving issues regarding PR/PO to avoid invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems
  • Experience collaborating with internal customers and providing a high level of customer service

Responsibilities

  • Create purchase requisitions when required and obtain approval prior to placing supply orders.
  • Manage the entirety of the purchasing and inventory control process, including communication with suppliers and PR/PO creation/verification.
  • Monitor and report the progress of purchases within SAP or equivalent purchasing software.
  • Contact vendors and verify quotations from various suppliers in order to assure that high quality and cost-effective parts and materials are ordered.
  • Observe usage of critical parts and set adequate minimum and maximum stock amounts within MVP.
  • Work with established supply chains on a set schedule, to ensure a continuous supply.
  • Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of MRO material.
  • React to work order requests of critical parts and ensure that the stock levels never fall below a set minimum.
  • Manage inventory accuracy by performing physical inventory counts daily.
  • Implement and manage min/max inventory management systems for identified MRO, office supplies, first aid, safety supplies, etc.
  • Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problems.
  • Manage and resolve issues regarding PR/PO to avoid invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options.
