About The Position

Magellan Aerospace, New York has an exciting new opportunity for an MRO Buyer. The purpose of this position is to be responsible for managing purchase orders, sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely procurement of materials in accordance with company policies and production needs. The successful incumbent will be a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $85,000 annually.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1 year of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience (aerospace or manufacturing experience preferred).
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills with an emphasis on cost reduction.
  • Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Generate purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records using the MRP system.
  • Manage and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Identify, research, and develop relationships with reputable, reliable, and cost-effective suppliers.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and continuously seek opportunities for procurement efficiencies.
  • Assist in developing and managing long-term agreements with key suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to secure the best value for the company.
  • Analyze and compare supplier quotations, considering price, terms, transport costs, and delivery commitments.
  • Prepare documentation for management approval, including price and cost analysis reports.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and suppliers, ensuring business interests are protected while fostering strong vendor relationships.
