About The Position

This role is authorized to perform all purchasing functions at Lakepark Industries as directed. The MRO Buyer determines the source of new supplies, quotes all items, and negotiates the best value, cost savings, and terms while maintaining the MRO vendor base. This position also supervises crib attendants, trains them in proper inventory management, stocking, placement, controlled access, and ordering of stock parts. The MRO Buyer evaluates and determines stock items and quantities, maintains open PO reports to ensure timely receipt of items, and has the authority to negotiate payment terms, price, and freight. Responsibilities include maintaining the inventory database, issuing and regulating new part numbers and supplies in PLEX, and establishing favorable vendor relationships. The role also involves creating purchase orders and requests, investigating unusual supply demands, managing Material Safety Data Sheets, chemical labeling, and the storage of recycled universal waste. Additionally, the MRO Buyer handles associated paperwork for special waste (EMS), runs the Parts Below Minimum Report, assists Accounting with invoice discrepancies, and obtains Certificates of Insurance from suppliers performing on-site work. Other essential functions may be assigned.

  • Skill in maintaining inventory databases.
  • Ability to issue and regulate new part numbers and supplies in PLEX.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining favorable vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency in creating purchase orders and purchase requests.
  • Ability to investigate unusual supply demands.
  • Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets management.
  • Understanding of proper chemical labeling and storage of recycled universal waste.
  • Familiarity with paperwork, logs, and manifests for special waste (EMS).
  • Ability to run PBM (Parts Below Minimum Report).
  • Skill in assisting Accounting with invoice discrepancies.
  • Ability to obtain Certificates of Insurance from suppliers.

  • Assist Accounting on Invoice discrepancies.
  • Obtain Certificates of Insurance documents from all suppliers who perform work on site.
  • Perform other essential functions as assigned.
