About The Position

Hartford Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center and one of the largest teaching hospitals in New England, is seeking a motivated MRI Technologist to join its busy, 24/7 MRI department. The department operates three GE High Field Scanners. The MRI Technologist will perform MRI exams by selecting appropriate software parameters based on established protocols to aid in physician diagnosis. This role involves preparing and positioning patients, administering contrast media, and accurately selecting technical parameters to produce cross-sectional body images.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiography program (ARRT) or graduate from American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) with an Associate Degree with focus in medical image preferably MRI.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Performs MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) exams in the hospital.
  • Selects specific software parameters according to established protocols.
  • Assists the referring physician in diagnosis.
  • Prepares and positions patients for MRI exams.
  • Injects patients with contrast media.
  • Selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
