About The Position

This job performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative. Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and responds to changes in status as appropriate. Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Requirements

Associate’s Degree; or equivalent from a two year college or a a technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R), or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), or Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) registered as an MR technologist certification required

Prior radiology experience
If ARRT (R) is the only certification ARRT in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) is required within 18 months from hire date

Responsibilities

Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s) independently.
Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
Prepares equipment and supplies.
Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
