About The Position

UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a Casual MRI Technologist to support our dynamic team in Oakland! In this flexible role, you’ll work varied shifts—daylight, evenings, weekends, and one holiday per year—with 8-, 10-, or 12-hour options between 6:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. Whether you’re seeking hands-on clinical experience or additional hours in an education-focused setting, this is a great opportunity to build your MRI expertise in a world-class environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology, or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT or ARDMS program.
  • ARRT registry eligible technologist must obtain ARRT within 6 months of hire date.
  • MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired.
  • CNMT, ARDMS and ARMRIT graduates must obtain MR registry within 12 months of hire date.
  • CPR or BLS Required.
  • ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
  • Act 34

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality MRI exams following established protocols while ensuring patient safety.
  • Accurately identify patients, review physician orders, and document imaging data.
  • Administer contrast and prepare patients for exams while maintaining MR safety at all times.
  • Collaborate with technologists, physicians, and athletic specialists to deliver top-tier diagnostic imaging.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients to ensure understanding and comfort throughout each procedure.
