About The Position

Performs MRI procedures. Adheres to MRI safety for patients and staff within MRI zones 1 through 4. Provides patient services using Magnetic diagnostic imaging. Male and female - infant, child, adult, geriatric; acute care, outpatients, and emergency.

Requirements

• License to practice Radiologic Technology from NYS Department of Health with a current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• MR registry is required within two years of employment.
• An injection license is also a requirement.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and to set own priorities if necessary.
• Able to work effectively with patients of all ages and in all types of medical situations.
• Potential exposure to hazardous and toxic substances and infectious patients.

Nice To Haves

• Experience preferable, however we will train a new graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist Program.
• GE experience is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI procedures.
• Adheres to MRI safety for patients and staff within MRI zones 1 through 4.
• Provides patient services using Magnetic diagnostic imaging.
• Assisting patients on and off exam tables and positioning of patient.
• Responsible for adhering to standards of MR safety and protection as established by regulatory bodies and monitored by the Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO).
• Responsible to use universal precautions.
