About The Position

The role of an MRI Technologist operates MRI equipment to obtain filmed images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies, according to Radiologist's directions and established procedures.

Requirements

Formal education and training in the field of MRI.
MRI certification required from ARRT or ARMRIT.
Active free and clear State of Florida Radiologic Technologist license
Communicate clearly and professional with all patients, physicians, and staff.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Follow instructions and protocols
Multi-task while being efficient
Provide quality images
Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
Possess the ability to fulfill any office activities normally expected in a direct patient care role in a medical office setting.
Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel, and reach with hand and arms.
Physical strength and agility to position patients for a variety of diagnostic examinations.
Occasionally lift/move/push/pull 50 pounds.
Employee should use his/her best judgment in assisting patients and should seek assistance if moving or lifting a patient would exceed the 50 pound limit required for this position.
Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding).

A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
Selects appropriate imaging techniques and operates console and peripheral hardware.
Positions patients, administers injections of contrast media and manipulates images to ensure a high quality exam.
Explains procedure to patient, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust.
Confirm patient identification
Prescreen and clear all patients prior to the patient entering scan room.
Reviews the MRI Safety Plan annually.
Cleans and maintains all equipment to OEM specifications.
Obtains continuing education credits as required by licensure
Follow OSHA Guidelines
HIPAA and Corporate Compliance
Other duties as assigned
