About The Position

Essen Health Care is seeking MRI Technologists to operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment and produce body images for diagnostic purposes while providing a positive patient experience. The role involves operating high-field-strength magnets and related equipment, supporting radiologists, performing radiological procedures when not performing MRI duties, and helping meet patients’ psychological and physical needs during procedures. The position also includes patient scheduling and flow coordination, recordkeeping, and training new-hire technologists.

Requirements

Associate degree in radiologic technology, radiology, or a related field.
Appropriate state licensure.
Proven experience working as an X-ray/MRI technician.
Ability to move or lift patients.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Patient and compassionate disposition.

Responsibilities

Operate high-field-strength magnets and related equipment to produce specialized radiographic images of specific body parts.
Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment in accordance with government regulations and to ensure patient and staff safety.
Screen patients for MR safety before procedures.
Assist radiologists with procedures.
Perform radiological procedures when not performing MRI duties.
Evaluate MR scans for technical quality; collate processed images and exposure sequences; and label images appropriately.
Schedule patients for procedures and assist with clerical functions.
Maintain accurate patient records.
Provide education and training for new-hire technologists.
Address patients’ psychological and physical needs during MR procedures.
Coordinate scheduling and patient flow.
