About The Position

This full-time MRI Technologist role is based in Bloomington, IN, with a schedule of Friday through Monday, 7a - 5:30p. The position is eligible for our Special Weekend pay incentive. While some flexibility may be available, Saturday and Sunday coverage is required. Sign-on bonus available to eligible applicants! This role requires knowledge of MRI safety and safety zones, reviewing patient history and screening for safety concerns (ferromagnetic objects, implanted devices, etc.). The technologist will educate patients on what to expect and ensure they are safe and comfortable during their scan. Obtaining IV access, preparing and administering contrast, and recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events are key responsibilities. The role also involves advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, ensuring the MRI environment remains safe by screening all visitors and team members, and displaying knowledge of scanning protocols and adjusting them to ensure diagnostic images. Performing routine QC and ensuring equipment is functioning properly, collaborating with radiologists and referring physicians, and documenting necessary information in EMR are also part of the job. Assistance with minimally invasive procedures may be required.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires advanced certification through one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Technologist - Magnetic Resonance, RT(MR) ; or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT): Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (RMRIT) , within 12 months of hire.
  • May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
  • May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
